(New Orleans)– Royce Duplessis, candidate for State Representative, District 93, earned the highest graded ranking of “A” on the Greater New Orleans Housing Alliance’s (GNOHA) Candidate Report Card for policy proposals to solve the affordable housing crisis.
The GNOHA platform includes: protecting and securing funding for the Louisiana Housing Trust Fund; property tax relief for low-income homeowners who face increased property assessments; and incentivizing blighted property redevelopment, while also creating affordable housing options within those redevelopments.
Duplessis said: “We are faced with an affordable housing crisis. This reality poses serious challenges for low-income residents and for our entire City. I pledge to work with GNOHA to develop smart policies that create safe, stable and affordable housing to sustain our precious communities.”
